Fifty-nine dogs were rescued by Hall County Animal Control officers from a Lula home Tuesday, where they had lived in “deplorable” conditions, according to a news release from Hall County. Richard Vaught and Kimberly Halulka, who live in the 8400 block of Romey Savage Road, are each charged with 58 counts of animal cruelty, said Katie Crumley, spokeswoman for Hall County. “One of them needs to have an eye removed, but he’s incredibly sweet and could be adopted right away,” said Dr. Meghan Seabolt, veterinarian for the Hall County Animal Shelter, in a news release.
