Aerocom USA celebrated the opening of its new 13,000-square-foot headquarters and training facility Thursday on Thurmon Tanner Parkway in Oakwood.

The company, the North American distributor of pneumatic tube systems for German parent Aerocom GmbH, employs approximately 18 in Hall County and 28 throughout the U.S. and Canada. The expansion represents a $1.2 million investment.

Aerocom was earlier moved from Roswell to Alpharetta. The company relocated in 1998 to Hall County, where it has operated for nearly 15 years in leased facilities. It took between six and seven months, said Richard Beaty, president of Aerocom Systems’ USA, to select and acquire the now-renovated building and surrounding parcels.

“Oakwood and the Tanners Creek Business Park is a great business location, and we are happy to make it our home,” Beaty said. “We have easy access for transportation, excellent choices of nearby restaurants and close proximity to medical facilities and the University of North Georgia Gainesville campus,” he said.

All of the company’s products distributed in North America come directly from the Oakwood facility, Beaty said.
“We expect to continue to grow and thrive with this area in the coming years.”

Dr. Wolfram Pfitzer, Aerocom managing director, traveled to the Oakwood headquarters from Germany to congratulate his associate and friend.

“Today is a proud day for you personally,” said Pfitzer, “your family, and all the employees of Aerocom. I hope that Aerocom will prosper and keep growing.”

According to Oakwood City Manager, Stan Brown, Aerocom is now in one of the city’s two overlay districts, in which there is a focus on high-quality development and attractive landscaping, “so we’ll have a good view ... coming into town,” he said.

“Recently we’ve had really good success at businesses coming here and expanding in Hall County,” said Billy Powell, commissioner for the district. “We appreciate your investment in community and jobs.”

“Aerocom is a model employer with a top-quality product that you and I see frequently at retail stores and financial institutions,” said Tim Evans, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce vice president of economic development. “This expansion represents Aerocom’s commitment to grow locally as a committed corporate citizen.”

Aerocom GmbH was founded in 1952, and Aerocom USA was established in 1970. The company provides pneumatic tube system technology worldwide with more than 50,000 systems installed in 65 countries.
