One person was killed in a vehicle accident Friday afternoon on Interstate 985 that temporarily shut down both northbound lanes, authorities said.
The wreck occurred south of Mundy Mill Road, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell confirmed that the accident resulted in a fatality, but he had no further information on the victim.
A second accident later occurred south of Friendship Road in Gwinnett County, also in the northbound lanes, that slowed traffic as well.
