Judging by Sam Sartain’s wicked sense of humor and optimistic outlook, you’d never guess what a difficult year he’s been through. The 15-year-old lost one of his feet in an ATV accident last August, which forced him to spend his first year as a high-schooler in and out of hospitals, on and off powerful painkillers and undergoing months of physical therapy. He endured seven surgeries and three amputations to his right leg.
