An 83-year-old man was killed Saturday morning in downtown Hoschton in a collision between his car and a tractor-trailer, authorities said.

Hoschton Police Chief David Hill said the accident happened at the intersection of Ga. 53 and Broad Street at about 8:30 a.m. The driver, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was turning onto Ga. 53 from Broad Street when his Cadillac was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer, Hill said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the car, Hill said.

No citations have been issued pending an investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
