Skunk tested positive after dog encountered it

A dog encountered a rabid skunk near Belmont Highway in East Hall, according to a Hall County government news release. The skunk tested positive for rabies Tuesday when tested by the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur. Anyone noticing an animal acting strangely should contact animal control at 770-531-6830 or dispatch at 770-536-8812 during non-working hours, according to the news release.
