52-lot development showing signs of life in North Hall
Hall County Government Center

A stalled housing development is coming back to life on Lawson Robinson Road in North Hall.

Breedlove Residential in Gainesville hopes to develop 52 lots in the agricultural area west of Murrayville on a 60-acre tract that was rezoned before the housing crash and partly developed in 2012. It was zoned as a planned development at the time, but when site preparation stopped the land was rezoned back to its original zone: agricultural-residential-III.

Though the land is currently agricultural, the parcel has streets, Gainesville water and stormwater infrastructure. Now that the developers are ready to build, Breedlove Residential, which bought the property in 2017, according to Hall County records, has applied to turn the land back into a planned development.

The average lot size in the development would be about one acre, according to plans for the property.

The zoning change was recommended for approval by the Hall County Planning Commission on March 5. The Hall County Board of Commissioners is due to vote on the rezone at its Thursday, March 22, meeting.
