Traffic was backed up Thursday evening on Green Street after a five-vehicle crash between North Avenue and Candler Street , according to Keith Smith, division chief for the Gainesville Fire Department.

A vehicle made an illegal left turn onto Green Street from Candler and pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle,  Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Friday, Aug. 16. The crash then pushed two other vehicles, one of which flipped and hit a fifth vehicle, he added.

No one was seriously injured, he said.
