Two recently graduated Gainesville High School student-athletes were arrested Wednesday, accused of shooting a woman in the face with a pellet gun from a moving car.
Police said Justin L. Fordham, 18, was charged with reckless conduct and terroristic threats.
Blaine J. Martin, 19, was charged with battery, reckless conduct and terroristic threats, police said.
Fordham was the Red Elephants’ starting quarterback in the most recent football season. Both Fordham and Martin were starters on the Gainesville High School baseball team.
Gainesville police Lt. John Robertson said at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call in the 1200 block of Parkhill Drive reporting that a woman was shot in the face with an air gun. The caller told police two teenage boys were riding around the neighborhood firing the weapons from two different white trucks, Robertson said.
Officers responding to the area stopped the two trucks and found two Air Soft brand pellet guns and two bottles of ammunition, Robertson said. The victim had minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
The charges are misdemeanors.
