A Gwinnett County Police officer broke a window Tuesday to rescue a puppy from a car in the Mall of Georgia parking lot, according to authorities. The police department received a complaint before 7 p.m. Tuesday of a dog inside a vehicle “panting and crying” in front of the JC Penney store at the Buford mall, according to the department’s news release. With the temperature above 90 degrees that day, the police officers looked inside a black BMW with the windows rolled down 2-3 inches and spotted marijuana and a small, white-and-tan puppy, police said.
