A 16-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated assault following an incident that resulted in the hospitalization of a 12-year-old boy, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
The 16-year-old has been charged following an incident where a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg with a handgun on Floyd Road shortly after midnight Sunday.
After the shooting, deputies began looking for a 16-year-old boy after witnesses reported seeing him flee the scene of the shooting. Deputies found the suspect near Rolling Ridge Road Sunday evening and arrested him on an outstanding juvenile detention order. The 16-year-old was also charged with one count of aggravated assault in connection with the Floyd Road shooting, according to a statement from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
The 12-year-old was treated and released from a local hospital Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office.
