Sixteen laptop computers were stolen during a weekend burglary at Davis Middle School in South Hall.

The computers were taken from 16 portable classrooms, which are behind the school at 4335 Atlanta Highway, said Gordon Higgins, spokesman for the Hall County School System.

The extent of damage to the classrooms was broken doors and windows, he added.

The investigation began after a teacher contacted principal Eddie Millwood about 7 a.m. Monday to report that her computer was missing, Higgins said.

The Flowery Branch Police Department is investigating the burglary.

Higgins deferred other questions to Flowery Branch police Lt. Tony Sullo, who could not be reached for comment.
