One person was injured in a four-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon on Green Street in Gainesville.

The accident occurred about 4 p.m. and required one lane to be closed for a short time.

One person involved in the accident was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with minor injuries, Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said.

Kimbrell said there haven't been any other traffic accidents despite the expected heavy travel weekend.

"For us, it's been a quiet weekend," he said.

A spokeswoman for the Georgia State Patrol's Gainesville Post said there haven't been any major accidents with injuries since the travel period began Friday evening.
