A $1 million Georgia Lottery instant ticket was sold at Texaco Food Mart, 1860 Atlanta Highway in Gainesville.

Rafiqul Bhuiyan of Lawrenceville bought the Georgia Lottery’s 20th Anniversary Extravaganza ticket and claimed his prize at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.

Georgia Lottery profits pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
