Gainesville police have arrested one person and have warrants for another in the theft of equipment from a truck parked behind City Plumbing on E.E. Butler Parkway.

Police say the men may be responsible for other thefts in the area.

A leaf blower and weed trimmer valued at $1,050 were reported stolen July 23. One of the stolen items later turned up earlier this month and investigators were able to identify the thief, Lt. Brian Kelly said.

James Anthony White, 42, of Decatur, was charged with felony theft by taking.

A warrant remains active for John Thomas Gaudlock, 44, of Gainesville for felony theft by taking.

The two men remain suspects in other property thefts in and around southeast Gainesville, Kelly said.
