A Gainesville man accused of being involved with an April 4 shooting death in Gainesville has been arrested, according to police.

Tadrick Terrian Osborne, 37, is in the Hall County Jail and is charged with felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the death of Dennis Ronald Gayton, 47. All charges are considered as a party to the crime.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said a second man, Marquis Lejon Studivant, 27, of Gainesville, was also charged with felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault. He has not been apprehended, Holbrook said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

“Two male suspects allegedly attempted to rob Gayton during drug-related activity,” Holbrook previously said in a news release. “The shooter fired into the vehicle during the incident, killing Gayton, causing the vehicle to crash into a tree.”

Gayton was shot in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Carlton Street about 9:30 p.m. April 4, police said. He later died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

“(Gayton) was found in a vehicle behind the barber shop there,” Holbrook said.

Gayton’s son received minor injuries either in the crash or leaving the scene, Holbrook said.
