Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ellis Hyer

Laura Michelle Vaughan and Daniel Ellis Hyer were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. May 22, 2010, in The Day Chapel at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens.
The bride is the daughter of Doug and Karen Vaughan of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Dee Hyer of Strongsville, Ohio and John and Inez Hyer of Rincon.

The Rev. Jeff Benefield performed the ceremony. A string trio presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's friend Kathryn Dickenson of Pelham, Ala., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister-in-law Angelyn Vaughan of North Augusta, S.C. and the bride's friends Lauren Paul of Athens, Emily Morris of Marietta, Christine Lopapa and Carolyn Knabel, both of Atlanta.

The groom's brother John Hyer of Athens was the best man. Groomsmen were the bride's brother Michael Vaughan of North Augusta, the groom's friends Daniel Martyn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jason Savarese of Chattanooga, Tenn., Daniel Watts of Madison, Ohio and Perry Johnson of Gainesville, Fla.

Crevolyn Wiley and Emily Williams were the wedding coordinators. Samantha Svedlund and Alexandra Smith kept the bride's book.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at East West Bistro in Athens on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at The Conservatory at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, the couple reside in Iowa city, Iowa.
