Dana Marie Smith and James Lloyd Walker were united in marriage at 11 a.m. Sept. 13, 2008, at Alpine Wedding Chapel in Helen. The bride is the daughter of Buford and Charlotte Smith of Oakwood. The groom is the son of Ralph and Ellie Walker of Marietta.

The Rev. Austin Echols performed the ceremony.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The groom's daughter Erica Lovering of Loganville was matron of honor. The groom's daughter Cathryn Walker of Loganville was the bridesmaid. The bride's great-niece Nohlla Ann Coker of Flowery Branch was the flower girl.

The groom's father was the best man. The groom's friend Patrick Thompson of Acworth was the groomsman.

The bride wore her mother's pearls.

A rehearsal dinner was held at The Helen House Restaurant in Helen on the eve of the wedding.

The bride and groom gave a reception in the Garden Room of Alpine Wedding Chapel in Helen following the ceremony.

Following a wedding trip in Helen, the couple reside in Oakwood.
