Mario and Heather Cevallos

Heather Lynn Smith and Mario Herbert Cevallos were united in marriage at sunset, July 2, 2008, on Tybee Island. The bride is the daughter of Raeburn and Vicki Smith of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Shelia Mason of Marina, Calif., and Marco Cevallos of Gainesville.

The bride's uncle the Rev. Tracy Sexton performed the ceremony.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride's sisters Ashley and Kristen Smith, both of Gainesville, were maids of honor. The bride's cousin Madison Mayfield of Flowery Branch was the flower girl.

The groom's friend Jeremy Crowell of Gainesville was the best man. The groom's friend Dustin Hicks of Gainesville was the groomsman. The bride's cousin Connor Mayfield of Flowery Branch was the ring bearer. Chandler Mayfield, Courtney Lovell, Brooke Beasley, Beverly Sexton, Debra Smith, Teresa Wilson and Deena Hicks assisted.

The bride carried her father's pocket watch that belonged to her late grandfather and a handkerchief belonging to her great-grandmother. She wore a pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings that were gifts from her parents and a blue garter that was a gift from her sisters.

The bride's parents gave a reception at a beach house on Tybee Island following the ceremony.

Following a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Gillsville.
