Allison and John Ferguson III

Allison Mae Rutherford and John Angus Ferguson III were united in marriage at 5 p.m. July 13, 2013, at Weddington United Methodist Church in Weddington, N.C. The bride is the daughter of Michael Allen and Danette Rutherford of Weddington, N.C. The groom is the son of John Angus Jr. and Lydia Ferguson of Gainesville.

The Rev. Terry Moore performed the ceremony. Carolina Strings and soloist Ashley Seitz presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sister Emily Rutherford Johnson of Weddington, N.C., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Lisa Taylor of Greenville, S.C., Lisa Winters of Charlotte, N.C., Magali Sermersheim of Nashville, Tenn., Elizabeth Soule of Greenville, S.C., Meagan Pennell of Charlotte, N.C., and Kirsten Leeke of Charlotte, N.C., and the bride’s cousin Claire Holt of Charlotte, N.C. The bride’s friends Ella Woods of Raleigh, N.C., Chloe Woods of Raleigh, N.C., and Alexa Woods of Raleigh, N.C., were the flower girls.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Max Huang of Columbia, S.C., Zach Duskin of Columbia, S.C., Forrest Andersen of Atlanta, Tim Scully of Gainesville and Spencer Hughes of Braselton, and the bride’s brothers Michael Rutherford of Charlotte, N.C., and Bennett Rutherford of Weddington, N.C.

Anna Holt, the bride’s cousin, and Alex Kemp kept the bride’s book.

The bride carried a handkerchief made from the groom’s christening bonnet, and wore her great-grandmother’s brooch on her bouquet.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Firethorne Country Club in Marvin, N.C., on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at their residence in Weddington, N.C., following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple reside in Greenville, S.C.
