Elisabeth Strother Randolph and Jessie Rayburn Kendrick Jr. were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Oct. 20, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Strother F. and Cynthia C. Randolph of Gainesville. The groom is the son of J.R. and Annette Kendrick of Jasper, Ala.

The Rev. Paul W. Evans and Dr. David McDonald performed the ceremony. Organist BJ Calloway, violinist Heather Strachan, cellist Mary Alice Swope, trumpeter Chris Probst and vocalist Michelle Martin presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride’s sister Caroline Cobb of Gainesville was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Alison Styring of Olympia, Wash., Whitney Willis of Gainesville and the bride’s sister-in-law Amy Uptain of Jasper, Ala. Honorary bridesmaids were Jane Chance of Atlanta, Lynn Carter and Deborah Hardy, both of Gainesville, Dixie Truelove of Clermont, Anna Whitmire of Murrayville and Cindy Wilson of Gainesville. The bride’s niece Virginia Cobb of Gainesville was the flower girl.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Lee Morris of Pontotoc, Miss., Larry Reed of Memphis, Tenn., and Rodney Thomason of Homer. The groom’s nephew Tanner Uptain was the ring bearer.

The bride carried a sixpence given to her by Nell Wiegand. She wore her mother’s veil and her great-grandmother’s bracelet.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at the Governor Hardman House in Commerce following the ceremony. Christopher Davidson was the wedding coordinator.

Following a wedding cruise to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Gainesville.
