Mackenzie Johnson and Maurice Pitesky were united in marriage at noon April 1, 2007, at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, Calif. The bride is the daughter of Joe and Susan Biddy and Jim Johnson, all of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Sheldon and Shirl Lee Pitesky of Los Angeles.
The officiants were Mr. Bill Friedman, Rabbi Leonard Beerman and the Rev. Paul Evans.
The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride’s sister Jocelyn Pryor of Gainesville and the groom’s sister Jo Pitesky of Los Angeles were the matrons of honor. The bride’s niece Madison Pryor of Gainesville was the flower girl.
The groom’s brother Raymond Pitesky of Los Angeles was the best man. Tony Romaine of Los Angeles, a friend of the groom, was the groomsman. The groom’s nephew Ryan Pitesky of Los Angeles was the ring bearer.
The bride wore her mother’s pearl bracelet and a garter crocheted by her mother. The couple was married beneath a hand-quilted chuppah comprising squares created by the couple and their families and friends.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal luncheon at The Terrace Restaurant at Venice Beach, Calif., on March 30, 2007.
The couple and their parents gave a reception at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Calif., following the ceremony.
