Jennifer Lea Ham and Scott Derrick Givens were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. July 11, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Mark M. IV and Eugenia Ham of Atlanta. The groom is the son of David and Caprice Givens of Antioch, Tenn.

The Rev. William Coates performed the ceremony. Vocalist Tony Hamilton and organist Della Ruth Johnson presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's friends Chelsea Elizabeth Beard and Catherine Brinson Bruce, both of Gainesville, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's cousins Casey Benson Maslanka of Charlotte, N.C., Michele Huff Reiboldt of Marietta and Shannan Irvin Huff of Atlanta, and the groom's sister Adrienne Dawn Ward of Chapel Hill, Tenn. Junior bridesmaids were the groom's nieces Gabrielle Olivia Givens and Alexandra Elizabeth Givens of Eagleville, Tenn. The bride's sister-in-law Lesley Elizabeth Ham of Cataula was the honorary bridesmaid. The groom's nieces Emma Grace Givens of Eagleville and Riley Ann Ward of Chapel Hill were the flower girls.

The groom's brother David Alexanader Givens II of Eagleville was the best man. Groomsmen were the bride's brother Mark Mitchell Ham V of Cataula; the groom's brothers Curt Matthew Givens of Nashville, Tenn., and Grant Darin Givens of Antioch; the groom's friends Brian Scott Elliot of Columbus, Ohio, Eric Wayne Felts of Smyrna, Anthony Bennett Litton of Flowery Branch and Jason Todd Burns of Nashville. The groom's nephew Dayton Jeffrey Ward of Chapel Hill was the junior groomsman.

Beth Neidenbach was the wedding coordinator. Greeters were Charles and Carole Hudgins. Erin Fargason Davis was a Scripture reader.

The bride carried her late paternal grandfather's wedding ring tied on her bouquet and her godmother's six pence. She wore her mother's veil.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Elachee Nature Science Center in Oakwood on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at the Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Manchester, Tenn.
