Kasia Nicole Cunningham and Cortni Deon Covington were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Oct. 16, 2010, at St. John Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Garrison L. Sr. and Cynthia Cunningham of Oakwood. The groom is the son of Nobleine Covington of Birmingham, Ala. and Donald Covington of Bessemer, Ala.
The Rev. Steven P. Samuel performed the ceremony. Pianist Kavin Sutton, vocalist JJ Evans and saxophonist Henderson Lee presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride's friend Ashley Vereen of Atlanta was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Kesha McRae and Senita McRae, both of Flowery Branch, Danielle Goss of Gainesville, Jessica Cable of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Stacy Seale of Birmingham, Kristin Heard of Marietta and Andreka Thompson and the bride's sister-in-law Pamesha Cunnningham, both of Gainesville. The bride's cousin Kristin Parker-Garraway of Pascalgola, Miss., the groom's cousin Rhyan Edwards of Birmingham and the bride's friend Jai'da Thompson of Gainesville were the flower girls.
The groom's brother Brian Covington of Birmingham was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's cousin Gaelon Hayden, the groom's friends Aaron Brown, Clarence Fuller Danny McDaniel and Jerell Foster, all of Birmingham, Brandon Johnson of Huntsville, Ansharn Glenn of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the groom's brother-in-law Garrison L. Cunningham Jr. of Oakwood. The groom's nephews Devin Covington of New Orleans was the ring bearer and the groom's nephew Ethan Broadnax of Plant City, Fla., was the bell boy. Ushers were Torrance Knight, Jewel Gist, Sean Garris, Tamara Goss and Asia Cunningham.
Audrey Scott was the wedding coordinator.
The bride carried two wedding bands that belonged to her grandparents along with six roses for her deceased grandparents.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Kani House in Buford on the eve of the wedding.
The bride's and groom's parents gave a reception at the Gainesville Civic Center in Gainesville following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple reside in Loganville.
