Anna Catherine Cooper and Harold Wilson Thomas III were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Aug. 23, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Melvin and Deborah Cooper of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Mac and Ann Milner of Savannah and the late Harold Wilson Thomas Jr.
The Rev. William L. Coates performed the ceremony. Pianist Mark Green, organist Della Ruth Johnson and vocalist Jimmy Cutrell presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's sister Mary Elizabeth Cooper of Waco, Texas, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Leah Malcolm Ainslie of Madison, Ruth Ann DeFazio and Kimberly Craig Dobbin, both of Atlanta, Lyndsey Morrison Humphries of Gainesville, the groom's sister Michelle Thomas McGinnis of Peoria, Ill., and the bride's friends Tarah Michelle Standridge of Madisonville, Tenn., and Brooke Garrett Wright of Prattville, Ala. The couple's friend Delaney Blake Murrell of Kingsland was the flower girl.
The groom's stepfather was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's friends John Benjamin Alvarez, Alexander Watson Blount and Corey Blair Murrell, all of Kingsland; Maury Abraham Alpert, Joseph Moreo Ferraro, James Anthony Giello and Brian Patrick Lowe, all of Savannah; and Michael Mark Zabarac of Midway. The groom's nephew Timothy Alan McGinnis Jr. of Peoria was the ring bearer. Greeters were Joe and Susan Biddy, Charles and Mary Jim Musselwhite, Lynn Fletcher, Andy and Tina Maddox and Charles and Doris Dennard.
Lydia Park was the wedding coordinator and Doris Dennard was the floral designer. The bride's cousin Kimberly Perry kept the bride's book. Program attendants were Sadie Jane Saxton and Rosemary Claire Whitmire.
The groom's family and friends gave a rehearsal dinner at The Walters Barn in Lula on the eve of the wedding.
The bride's parents gave a reception at The Chattahoochee Country Club following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia in the Caribbean, the couple reside in Kingsland.
