Mary Emily Carmon and Sean Lee McConnell were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Kay Blackstock of Gainesville. The groom is the son of David and Anita McConnell of Gainesville.

The Rev. Sammy Harbin performed the ceremony. Pianist Chad Watkins and vocalist Mindy Roark presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her brother Whit Carmon of Gainesville. The bride's sister Laura Carmon of Gainesville was matron of honor.

The groom's father was the best man.

Dean Adams was the wedding coordinator.

The bride wore her grandmother's lavaliere and carried a 10 pence given to her by the groom.

The bride's family gave a reception at 2 Dog Restaurant following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Isle of Palms and Charleston, S.C., the couple reside in Gainesville.
