Margaret “Meg” Bennett and Robert Middleton

Margaret (Meg) Elizabeth Bennett and Robert Justin Middleton were united in marriage at 6 p.m. March 9, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Rosalind Bowers Bennett and Douglas Adrian Bennett of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Suzanne and Robert Stephen Middleton of Rome.

The Rev. William L. Coates Jr. performed the ceremony. Organist Della Ruth Johnson, harpist Molly McNeese and soloist Wilder Embry presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s cousin Erin Davis of Gainesville was matron of honor. The bride’s sister Peyton Sharpe of Gainesville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Melissa Allen of Acworth, Mary Bartlett of Omaha, Neb., Michelle Fuller of Atlanta, Ashely LeFevre of Charleston, S.C., Louisa White of Alpharetta, Mary Ward of Athens, and the groom’s sister Leigh Kiser of Rome. The bride’s cousins Maricarter and Addison Allred of Gainesville and Elsie and Millie Morris of Athens were the flower girls.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother Zach Bennett of Gainesville, the groom’s friends Alan Brooks of Milledgeville, Benji Mathis of Acworth, Will Mink of Rome, Robbie Purser of Marietta, Seth Sorrells of Cedartown, John Robert Worthington of Nashville, Tenn., and the groom’s brother Wright Middleton of Rome. Brady Ward was the ring bearer.

The bride wore her mother’s pearl necklace and her grandmother’s ring.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Luna’s restaurant in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s mother gave a reception at Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Athens.
