Jennifer Marie Baker and Jonathan Robert Benton were united in marriage at sunset on June 21, 2008, on the beach at Venice Beach in Venice, Fla. The bride is the daughter of Tommy and Becky Baker of Flowery Branch.
The groom is the son of Benjamin and Teri Benton of Gainesville.
The Rev. Barbara A. Barndt performed the ceremony.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friend Amanda Crane of Oakwood was matron of honor. The bride’s sister Melissa Baker of Oakwood was maid of honor. The matron of honor’s daughter Carlie Crane of Oakwood was the flower girl.
The groom’s friend Chris Hester of Gainesville was the best man. The groom’s friend Nathan Beasley of Gainesville was the groomsman. The bride’s nephew Kamen Latimer of Oakwood was the ring bearer.
The bride wore a pearl brooch given to her by the groom’s grandmother and she carried a handkerchief borrowed from the groom’s mother.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at the Holiday House in Venice on the eve of the wedding.
The bride’s family gave a reception at the groom’s uncle’s house in Port Charlotte, Fla., following the ceremony.
Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Clermont.
