Dana and Duncan Elkins

Dana Leigh Askew and Duncan Christian Elkins were united in marriage on June 20, 2009, at Athens First United Methodist Church in Athens. The bride is the daughter of Danny and Lynda Askew of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Chris and Bettye Elkins of Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Rev. Don Harp performed the ceremony. Organist Janis Maxwell, vocalist Chris Davidson, cellist Eunice Kang and trumpeter Bryan Agan presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's friend Hester Nguyen of Athens was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister-in-law Susan Askew of Washington, D.C., the bride's friends Katy Jablon of Atlanta and Amy McKinney of Gainesville and the groom's sister Ellen Smith of Charlotte, N.C. Mady Fischetti of Athens was an honorary bridesmaid.

The groom's friend Ken Baerenklau of Riverside, Calif., was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's friend Will Allen of Chapel Hill, N.C., the bride's brother Todd Askew of Washington, D.C., and the groom's friends Brian Mack of Chapel Hill and Scott Reiss of Walnut Creek, Calif.

Chris Davidson was the wedding coordinator. Meg Garland kept the bride's book.

The bride carried a handkerchief that belonged to her great-grandmother.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Ciné in Athens on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception in the Athena Ballroom at The Classic Center in Athens following the ceremony.

The couple reside in Athens.
