Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Petron of Americus announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Rachel Lynne Petron to Mr. Clifford "Kip" Harrell Wright Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Wright of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Petron of The Villages, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Kiemele of Bismarck, N.D.

She is a 2006 graduate of Americus-Sumter High School in Americus. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in Athens.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Jessie Mae Wright of Gainesville, the late Mr. Tom H. Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Goddard of Maysville and Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Minish of Commerce.

He is a 2005 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree in social studies education from the University of Georgia in Athens.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 1, 2009, at Central Baptist Church in Americus.
