Summer vacation gives children the opportunity to relax, explore, hang out with friends and experience freedom from assignments and homework. For many elementary-aged students, however, the break from traditional classrooms gives them the chance to go on a journey at a different kind of school — Vacation Bible School. This summer, several churches will take kids from kindergarten through fifth grade on a trip to Mount Everest while staying in their own backyards through a VBS programs.
