Army National Guard Pvt. Jessica L. Lawrence has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of David Lawrence of Dawsonville. Lawrence graduated in 2001 from Jesus' Name Academy in Dawsonville.

Navy Reserve Seaman Recruit Young H. Lee, son of Song E. and Yoo S. Lee of Buford, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. Lee is a 2006 graduate of Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee.

Army Pvt. Sean E. Buice has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. Buice is the son of Earl Buice of Dawsonville and Diane Buice of Dahlonega.

Navy Reserve Seaman Recruit Brandon S. Maddox, son of Sherryl L. Jackson of Gillsville and Jeffery S. Maddox of Gainesville, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. Maddox is a 2007 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville.
