UNG cadets earn military awards and scholarships

Three dozen members of the University of North Georgia’s Corps of Cadets were presented military awards and scholarships April 27 at the annual Boar’s Head Brigade Military Awards Review in conjunction with the university’s annual Alumni Weekend.

Cadet Spc. Lauren Dare of Dawsonville received the Col. Jack Peevy Memorial Scholarship. Dare is studying nursing at UNG. She is the daughter of retire Lt. Col. Chris and Molly Dare of Dawsonville.

Cadet 1st Lt. Jonathan Strickland of Gainesville received the Capt. Jeremy Chandler Leadership Scholarship during the annual review. Strickland is studying international affairs with a Middle East concentration at UNG. He is the son of Jon and Tracy Strickland of Gainesville.

Cadet Sgt. 1st Class John Todd of Gainesville received the Maj. Steve Pavlica USMA ’79 Memorial Scholarship. Todd is studying biology at UNG. He is the son of Sharon and John Todd of Gainesville. He is also married to Danielle Todd of Gainesville.
