Two agencies donate venison to area charities

The Lanier Quality Deer Management (QDM) Branch/Southern Heritage Land Company (SHLC) Hunters for the Hungry program in Gainesville donated the last of its 2013 frozen ground venison in mid-January. Eight charities received highest-quality red meat, totaling 2,835 pounds. Charities included Georgia Mountain Food Bank, Gainesville Baptist Rescue Mission, Chattahoochee Baptist Mission, No One’s Alone women’s shelter, Serenity House, Riverbend Baptist Church, St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Three Dimensional Life (student rehabilitation).
