Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy learned valuable fire safety lessons from an outdoor expert.

Smokey the Bear presented the five rules for fire safety to students recently. The rules are: never play with matches or lighters, only you can prevent wildfires, always be careful with fire, always watch your campfire and make sure the campfire is out before leaving. Students watched an animated video highlighting the dangers of wildfires and man-made fires.

Three firefighters from the Chattahoochee Oconee National Forest accompanied Smokey the Bear and shared their own stories.

“We were happy to come and speak to kids about fire prevention,” firefighter Dequincy Gordon said.
