Amy Wynkoop of Gainesville, daughter of Martin and Patricia Wynkoop, recently graduated from Ohio Northern's Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University.

Adam Turner of West Hall High School has received a $1,000 Cargill Community Scholarship from the National FFA Organization. Turner plans to attend Gainesville State College in Oakwood.

Carlos Martinez, a fourth-grader at Gainesville Exploration Academy, was a finalist in the USS Georgia Art Contest, a statewide contest honoring the USS Georgia's return to service.

The following students recently graduated from Berry College in Rome: Kimberly Butler of Gainesville, daughter of Mark and Lisa Butler; Lydia Fields of Gainesville, daughter of Bruce and Nancy Fields; Jennifer Rumell of Gainesville, daughter of Ronald and Noreen Hemiss and Kevin and Nancy Rumell; Kyle Waller of Gainesville, son of John and Anna Waller; and Connie Francia of Oakwood, daughter of Gilda Francia.

The following students recently received the Wellesley College Book Award: Yesenia Vargas of East Hall High School, Leah Crawford of Gainesville High School, Ashton Blackwood of Johnson High School, Brianna Holcomb of Lakeview Academy and Anna Bower of North Hall High School.

Katherine Jennings Morgan of Flowery Branch has been named to the dean's list at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. Students who achieve a grade point average of at least 3.0 are eligible for this honor.
