The South Hall Rotary Club recently joined with the Interact Club from Flowery Branch High for participation in a Lake Lanier "Shore sweep" at the end of September. Several loads of garbage was collected and the students were able to learn about pollution and civic duties first hand.

Based in Flowery Branch, Clipper Petroleum is a locally owned and operated business with more than 400 employees in North Georgia and Metro Atlanta.

In 2011, Clipper recognized the growing needs of schools within its communities and saw that schools were greatly challenged to meet those needs in the current economic conditions.

Together with BP, Clipper Petroleum made a commitment to support East Hall Area schools last year through BP’s Fueling Communities grant program. The BP Fueling Communities program provides grants to organizations that are nominated by BP’s Branded Marketers, like Clipper Petroleum, so that local health, education, youth, food and housing programs can be sustained.

BP and Clipper Petroleum is continuing the commitment to support East Hall Area schools for the 2012-2013 school year with a $17,000 grant to East Hall Area Schools.

$12,500 will be granted to East Hall High; $3,000 to East Hall Middle and $1,500 to White Sulphur Elementary.

In the last 2 years, Clipper and BP have supported these schools with nearly $40,000.
