North Georgia Technical College announced its honor roll and president’s list for fall semester 2011. The president’s list recognizes full-time students with a 4.0 GPA in all areas, including work ethics. The honor roll recognizes full-time students with a 3.5 GPA. Full-time students are those taking at least 12 credit hours with no developmental courses. The following Hall County residents were named to the president’s list:Christopher Estrada, Mohamed Haniff, Kevin Lee, Bryant Parks, Kody Rylee, Cameron Schofield, Ciara Witzell; The following Hall County residents were named to the honor roll:Daniel Glenn, James Helton, Mitchell Mintz, Ethan Nichols, Stacey Parks, Jill Ramey, Miguel Razo, Charles Savage, Jessica Wagoner, Amanda Wilson.
Caitlin Lindsey Dorne of Commerce graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science (International Politics) from Clemson University.
Alexandra Leigh Clotfelter of Gainesville recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising.
Andrea Allen, daughter of Eddie and Susan Allen of Gainesville, was named to the fall 2011 dean’s list at Furman University. Allen is a 2010 graduate of Gainesville High School.
Robert Bowen of Gainesville was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Brevard College in Brevard, N.C.
The following Hall County student was named to the Middle Georgia College fall 2011 dean’s list:Kevin Mcelwain To attain the Dean’s List, a student must have at least a grade-point average of 3.5 out of a possible 4.0 while maintaining a full academic load.
Riverside Military Academy’s DoYeun Kim has been chosen as a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association All-State Band. Kim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Choong Hyun Kim of Seoul, South Korea. Kim, a sophomore at Riverside, will hold the position of principal oboe. He will attend the All-State Band event in March along with other top high school musicians from all over the state.
