Thuy Hanh and Stefanie Darby. Thuy Hanh Tran won a silver medal and an honorable mention at the Georgia Scholastic Art Competition at Georgia State, while Stefanie Darby won a silver medal. There were overmore than 2,500 artworks submitted.
GHS Senior Alexis Hawks has been named the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County’s "Youth of the Year" at an awards banquet that was keynoted by Gov. Nathan Deal.
Kristen Pierce Honeycutt, Gainesville High School class of 2007, was named on of the top 5 Social Innovators for AT&T this year. This is a competition, within the company, where employees can submit an idea or plan for AT&T to use. There were more than 17,000 entries from all across the country. Katelynn Castille graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Medical College of Georgia/GHSU with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. She is the daughter of Mike and Mona Castille. Castille was named to Who’s Who Among Students of American Colleges and Universities and is a member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. She is a 2009 graduate of West Hall High School.
Author Jackson Pearce, recently visited East Hall Middle School to talk with students about writing as a career. She has written "Sisters Red," "Sweetly" and has 2 books coming out in the spring.
