Troy McConaughey and border collie Ally were among the two- and four-footed entertainers from the Greater Atlanta Dog and Disc Club who put on an acrobatic show for the third annual “Paws for a Cause” on Sept. 20 at Piedmont College. Ally is a 5-year-old border collie who was rescued from a shelter and now competes in agility competitions across the country. “Paws for a Cause” is a fundraiser for the Habersham Humane Society and Habersham County Animal Care and Control Department. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit also conducted demonstrations. The Northeast Veterinary Hospital of Cornelia conducted a rabies clinic. The event was organized by Piedmont students Josie Eavenson, Makala Ramey and Gilbert Ibarra.
