Jackson County student wins scholarship

James Pitcher, a 2012 East Jackson Comprehensive High School graduate, has been awarded a Baldor Electric Company Foundation scholarship.

Pitcher of Commerce will return to the University of Georgia in Athens to continue in the pharmacy program. He is a member of the pre-pharmacy club and has received the Zell B. Miller scholarship. He volunteers for Hands On Northeast Georgia and the Sandy Creek Nature Center. Pitcher is the son of Jason and Susan Pitcher. His father works for Baldor in Flowery Branch.
