Doug Grammer of Walker county, the newly elected Ninth District GOP chairman, recently announced several appointments and new committees.
Dawn McCloskey of Cumming has been named Most Organized Mom by organize.com, a Web site devoted to organizational products.
McCloskey was nominated by her 16-year-old daughter, Taylor Reinsfelder, with an essay explaining McCloskey’s systems, strict routines, quirky habits and how she views her organizational philosophy.
Jerome Yarbrough, president of the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hall County, recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award at the Boys and Girls Clubs Georgia Area Council Awards Dinner held at Callaway Gardens.
The award is a way to thank and honor Americans who inspire others to volunteer, and recognizes individuals, families and groups that have achieved a certain standard — measured by the number of hours of service over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over a lifetime.
Yarbrough received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for more than 650 hours of volunteer service to the Boys & Girls Clubs and additional volunteer efforts.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County provides more than 4,000 children and teens a safe place to go along with programs and experiences that build character and leadership skills.
- Reva Jennings of Forsyth County was reappointed southeast regional director, which includes Forsyth and Hall counties.
- Joel Natt of Forsyth County has been appointed parliamentarian.
- Jim Pilgrim, chairman of the Hall County Republicans, was appointed chairman of the Rules Committee. Also appointed to the Rules Committee were Theresa Webb and Natt
- Bettye Chambers of Hall County was appointed to the Publicity Committee.
- Clayton Lovell of Hall County was appointed chairman of the Auxiliary Development Committee.
- Mark Pettit and Meredith Hardin of Hall County will serve on the Auxiliary Development Committee.
- Josh Shorr of Forsyth County will be chairman of the Speakers Bureau Committee.
- Anna McManus of Forsyth County will chair the Political Education Committee and will also serve on the Legislative Affairs Committee.
- The Ninth District includes Catoosa, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gordon, Hall, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Union, Walker, White and Whitfield counties.
