The North Hall Community Education Foundation has made $5,000 donations to each of the five North Hall-area schools: North Hall High School, North Hall Middle School, Mount Vernon Elementary School, Riverbend Elementary School and Wauka Mountain Elementary School.

Joshua Waters of Talmo recently competed in the 2008 American Junior Chianina Association's National Junior Heifer Show in Kansas City, Mo. His heifer calf, TR Ms Ula 2CA, was reserve division champion at the show.

The 15th annual Tennis Pro-Am tournament, held recently at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville, benefitted Challenged Child and Friends Inc. The organization provides therapeutic, educational and family support services to children with disabilities in an integrated learning environment. The tournament is one of the most successful events held by the tennis department at the Chattahoochee Country Club.
