Peachtree Plantation Senior Community celebrated National Assisted Living Week by converting their community into a luxury cruise ship. National Assisted Living Week was proclaimed by the Oakwood City Council for the week of Sept. 12-18.

The community was decorated as a cruise ship with residents, family members, friends and volunteers all playing the role as passengers.

Cruise-themed events were offered all week long including a Bon Voyage Breakfast, "Ports of Call," with special meals and activities such as casino nights, live entertainment and dancing, Captains’ Dinners and many other exciting events.

Many local volunteers assisted with the week’s events providing massages for passengers, happy hours, games and much more. Cruise Week has truly become a community effort at Peachtree Plantation.

Peachtree Plantation residents and staff are already making plans for next year’s "Cruise Week Celebration." The community and their residents always extend an open invitation for visitors to join in any events held at the community.

For more information or to join the community for an event call 770-297-6900 or visit Peachplantation.com. Peachtree Plantation is located at 4251 Hudson Drive, Oakwood.
