The Lyman Hall Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, recently presented a Flag Certificate to the Northeast Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America.

The SAR is a historical, educational, and patriotic organization that seeks to maintain and expand the meaning of patriotism including respect for our national symbols. A Flag Certificate is presented to individuals or organizations who properly display the US Flag.

For this year’s Girl Scout cookie sale, first-grade Girl Scout Daisies of Troop 10849 at Lakeview Academy, set a goal to send 250 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to U.S. troops serving overseas. The girls collected donations to pay for these cookies from family, friends, and from customers at outside "Booth Sales." As a "thank you" for the 150 boxes the troop sent last year, Bill Northcutt, who is stationed in Afghanistan, visited the troop at school to receive hugs from all the girls.
