The National Federation of Music Clubs has awarded gold cups to 35 area piano, voice and strings students who participated in the annual North Gainesville Music Festival held recently at Brenau University.
Piano students receiving 30-point gold cups were:
Hannah Fulenwider, student of Leana Haupt; Micah Chetta, student of Keith Jefcoat; Rachel Waterer, student of Priscilla Jefcoat; Gabrielle Diaz, student of You Ju Lee; Hannah Byrd, Olivia Gratehouse, Reagen Leimbach, Hannah Oliver and Paloma Zavala, all students of Donna Kirkindoll; Abby Harold, student of Sara Harris.
The following piano students received 15-point gold cups:
Halle Hughes, Mary Jackson, Ryan Jackson and Susanna Sartain, students of Beth Lawrence; Boone Alexander, Ali Auffarth and Isabella Robbins (duet), students of Sheryl Lynn Franklin; Sarah Garner, Abigail Gilleland, Adam Jobson, Madilyn Patterson, Paige Patterson and A.J. Waterer, students of Keith Jefcoat; Rachel Waterer (duet), student of Priscilla Jefcoat; Anna Caitlyn Anderson, Jacob Hendrix, Emma Grace Martin and John Oliver, students of Kirkindoll; Madison Jackson, student of Lee; Tanner Doan, student of Jeff Shaw; Ross Bishoff, student of Harris; and Stephen Clark, student of Sharon Collins.
Also receiving 15-point cups were Madeline McClurg, voice student of Nicole Parks; and Rachel Dillard, violin student of Laurin Smith.
All teachers are members of the Gainesville Music Club which sponsors the annual Junior Music Festivals in conjunction with the Georgia and National Federations of Music Clubs.
The Gainesville Music Club announces the Festival Scholarship winners from both the North Gainesville Music Festival and the South Gainesville Festival held recently in Gainesville.
Caroline Bennett, daughter of Butch and Debbie Bennett of Clermont, was awarded the North Gainesville Festival Piano Scholarship. The North Hall High School ninth-grader is a piano student of Leana Haupt, Gainesville.
Sarah Gheorghies, daughter of Chris and Magdalena Gheorgies of Hoschton, received a scholarship for being named the First Alternate in the North Gainesville Festival Piano Competition. The homeschooled eighth-grader studies piano with Keith Jefcoat of Gainesville.
Cecil Walker, son of Pamela Moultrie of Dacula, was named the South Gainesville Festival Piano Scholarship winner. The Archer High School sophomore studies piano with Evgeniya Volzhskaya of Buford.
Marisa Smith, daughter of Bill and Risa Smith of Buford, will receive a scholarship for being selected as the First Alternate in the South Gainesville Festival Piano Competition. The Heritage Academy eighth-grader studies piano with Sylvia Beard of Buford.
Becall Johns, granddaughter of Bob and Tootie Watson of Dawsonville, was named the Vocal Musical Theater Scholarship winner for the North Gainesville Festival. The Brenau Academy sophomore studies voice with Erin Masters of Gainesville.
Lauren Dawidowicz, daughter of Bogdan and Kathy Dawidowicz of Sugar Hill received the Jimmy Cutrell Art Song Scholarship in the South Gainesville Festival. The North Gwinnett High School senior studies voice with Greg Oliver of Lawrenceville.
Hayley Oliver, daughter of Greg and Pam Oliver of Lawrenceville, will receive a scholarship for being named the Art Song Runner-up in the South Gainesville Festival. The homeschooled eighth-grader studies voice with her father.
Nicole Chillemi, daughter of Sal and Theresa Chillemi of Sugar Hill, was awarded the South Gainesville Festival Vocal Musical Theater Scholarship. The North Gwinnett High School sophomore studies voice with Esther Harding at the Suwanee Academy of the Arts.
Travis Scoggins, son of Bill and Lori Scoggins of Sugar Hill, received a scholarship for being named the South Gainesville Festival Musical Theater Runner-up. The North Gwinnett High School sophomore studies voice with Greg Oliver at the Suwanee Academy of the Arts.
Ryan Cribbs, son of Fred and Jan Cribbs of Flowery Branch, won the Gainesville Music Club Strings Scholarship. The homeschooled 10th-grader studies cello with Mary Alice Swope, Gainesville.
