Gainesville native receives award at Wofford College

Louisa Rhodes Jacobs was recently selected as the recipient of the 2014 George A. Carlisle Award at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. The Gainesville native was recognized May 6 during the college’s Honors Day ceremonies.

Wofford’s academic major awards are presented by the faculty to seniors who have been recommended by major departments on the basis of academic merit, character and intellectual promise.

Jacobs, who majored in sociology with a minor in business, received a bachelor of arts degree May 18. She now plans to work as a social media director for Jacobs Media Corp. Her parents are John and Anna Jacobs of Gainesville.
Wofford College is an independent liberal arts college of 1,600 students.
