In the academic regional competition, Flowery Branch High School won 428-310 against Gainesville High School in the 11th- and 12th-grade contest. However, in the ninth- and 10th-grade Academic Team competiton, Gainesville High School finished with an undefeated season by defeating Flowery Branch 430-330. Both teams advanced to the North Georgia Tournament.
