Department of Revenue tours a winery

Georgia Department of Revenue agents from four corners of the state descended upon Dahlonega-Lumpkin County to visit Three Sisters Vineyards. The tours were organized by Special Agent Carter Leverette, who serves as the official liaison to the Georgia Wine Industry. Agents viewed the crushing of grapes, processing, fermentation and bottling equipment, winery laboratory equipment, tasting room set-up and licensing. Tours were conducted over two Thursdays in October for special training and familiarization of the farm wine industry. Pictured in the background with agents are Three Sisters Vineyards Owner Sharon Paul and Winemaker Hezzie Patrick demonstrating the “punch down” of fermenting grapes.
