Centennial Arts Academy won state honors Saturday at the annual Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl.

The competition, held at the UGA conference center in Athens during the Georgia Children’s literature conference, came down to teams from Centennial and St. Mary’s.

Centennial won 150-110. This was the second year Centennial has won the state title.

The team is chosen in October and competitions begin in January, with only first- and second-place teams moving on to the next level.
